Her Story

According to ancient Hindu tradition, Kali is the mother of us all. Kali is often depicted as a bloodthirsty harbinger of destruction, but this is so that through death we can experience the wonder of rebirth. Hence, when our lives seem as though they are out of control, this is Kali telling us that we have not chosen the right path. Through Kali’s strength, we are forced out of complacency and fear to find the right path for ourselves.

Her Modern Energy

Kali has unwavering judgement, strong willpower and penetrative insight. She also characterises how we feel about our attachments to people and possessions, and how we react when we are threatened with losing them.

Kali is related to our root chakra, home of the kundalini energy. When our root chakra is in balance, we feel secure, alert, stable – our lives are full of active and positive energy. If you are not feeling like this, it is no wonder Kali is speaking to you today.

Don’t be afraid to shed – Kali offers you the strength to rid your life of excess baggage, to confront the forces that threaten you, to destroy the elements of destruction in your life. Once this is done, you can celebrate new life!

Reconnect With Your Inner Kali

Sit on the floor, close your eyes, and while nurturing a related gemstone, feel your spine grow and take root in the earth. Feel the strength of the earth energise your spine and your body. See yourself smiling and successful on your new life path, and above all, safe. You are indestructable! You are strong! You can shake the weight from your shoulders and conquer the demon shadowing your life.

We can better understand who we are when we see our thoughts written down. Different journaling tools encourage us to THINK IN DIFFERENT WAYS. In our journal writings, we can EXPLORE DIFFERENT SIDES OF OUR NATURE. We can SEE BELIEFS that hold us back. We can GLIMPSE OUR POTENTIAL and then see ourselves realize it. We can DISCOVER INSIGHTS, CREATIVITY AND WISDOM we didn’t know we had.

EXERCISE: Want to watch your mind working? Try this first basic

tool: ‘STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS.’ For 5 or 10 minutes, write

  whatever comes to mind. “I hear .., I feel ,.., I see …, is

the stove on? This is a stupid exercise. I hope I am doing it

right. Wonder how work will go today?” etc. Just write your

  thoughts.

Repetition is okay. After a while you may find yourself asking questions and answering them. Once you complete a good dump of your mind, REVIEW it. What do you notice about your thoughts and self talk? What are the common themes? Any insights? This may bring up topics to journal about.

Getting thoughts onto paper RELEASES THE WORRIES that circle through our minds. Once we have the chatter and dominant thinking and concerns out of our heads, we get to SEE WHAT LIES UNDERNEATH. The subconscious mind sends up thoughts, ideas, symbols and messages. With journaling, you have a tool to grasp them and possibly make sense of them.

“I never know what I think about something until I read what I’ve written on it.” — William Faulkner

Just as the soft rains fill the streams,
Pour into the rivers, and join together in the oceans,
So may the power of every moment of your goodness
Flow forth to awaken and heal all beings–
Those here now, those gone before, those yet to come.

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
May your heart’s wishes be soon fulfilled
As completely shining as the bright full moon,
As magically as by a wish-fulfilling gem.

By the power of every moment of your goodness,
May all dangers be averted and all disease be gone.
May no obstacle come across your way.
May you enjoy fulfillment and long life.

For all in whose heart dwells respect,
Who follow the wisdom and compassion, of the Way,
May your life prosper in the four blessings
Of old age, beauty, happiness and strength.

Each morning before I begin the journey of my day let me sit still, in silence, and sow the seed of peace. Peace is harmony and balance. Peace is freedom – freedom from the burden of negativity and wastefulness. Let peace find its home within me. Peace is my original strength, my eternal tranquility of being. Let my first thought of the day simply be peaceful

The Sun indicates a period of sustenance and support. When this card comes up know that you are being guided and supported by the universeIf you’ve been feeling a bit out of touch lately with your life purpose, or finding goals difficult to reach, today’s card reminds you to get in touch with your source. Tap into that deep inner wisdom and intuition, not what your mind “thinks” you want to hear etc..Now is a time for growth through building a positive foundation.

When the Sun appears in a daily spread it tells us to also ensure that we are properly sustaining ourselves in all areas. Just like plants need the suns energy to grow and thrive, we also have vital needs that must be fulfilled, not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well.

The Sun also symbolizes power and raw energy. Now is a good time to work with this energy and direct it towards positive goals. Where our thoughts go our energy follows, so pay attention today to the areas where you are directing your vital energy. Make any necessary revisions. Don’t underestimate the creative power you have within you.

Why am I compelled to write?  Because the writing saves me from this complacency I fear.   Because I have no choice.  Because I must keep the spirit of my revolt and myself alive.  Because the world I create in the writing companstates for what the real world does not give me.  By writing I put order in the wold, give it a hande so I can grasp it.  I write because life does not appease my appetite and hunger.  I write to record what others erase when I speak, to rewrite the stories others have miswritten about me, about you.  To become more initmate with myself and you.  To discover myuself, to preserve myself, to make myself, to achieve self-autonomy.  To dispell the myths that I am a mad prophet or poor suffering soul.  To convince myself that I am  worthy and that what I have to say is not a pile of shit.  To show that I can and will write, never mind their assertions to the contrary.  And I will write about the unmentionables.

I really loved this — I find myself in the words — my push to write — my feelings about the WHY I write and WHY I write what I do!!! I’ve always been *outside the box* — and never thought much about it.  Others around me often did — my parents (well, step-mother and father) — sometimes people I worked with were “put off” by my open definition of self – but beyond that, everyone pretty much just knew I was who I was – and they loved me for it.  But, when it came to my writing, I always hesitated to be as bold — as open.  I found myself pullingi in the reins a bit — almost being more refined!!!  That was not me — rather than figure out why, I put my pen away!  I didn’t write for years – I missed it tremendously.  I missed being able to sit down and describe the blue that surrounded me on an early morning – or the heaviness that I felt when life was just too chaotic and full of arguing!

So here I am – ready to write – both on this screen – and with my pens, in my journal!  I’ve gathered some “fun” embellishments for my journal — I want to be able to put myself on those pages — I’m sure I’ll need more as I work my way along – but for now, I’m off and WRITING!!!!!!

Enjoy the friends, food and fun of it all, and make sure to take moment to reflect on the meaning of independence in your life.
